Foto2Avi allows creating movies from pictures and other videos. It also supports a few basic editing operations.

As a source, the program supports multiple image, sound and video file types; however, it only allows exporting to AVI video format. It’s a shame that the tool has an unattractive and too complicated interface, so it’s not surprising some users may feel completely lost when using it.

To create a new video, you need to create a list by importing source files, which you can arrange in the desired order. You can also edit each source file individually. In this regard, the application lets you extract a specific segment from a video clip and add subtitles. Likewise, you can insert transitions between the elements and add various effects. Another possible operation is to add a soundtrack. Unluckily, all of this has to be done blindly because the application doesn’t allow previewing changes as you make them.

All in all, Photo2Avi can produce good quality video clips. Yet, it still has a poorly designed interface. Therefore, in spite of the fact that it’s completely free, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
